Commission
Same rate for spot (incl. margin) and futures. First 30-day assessment for new affiliates: LV1 40% = 2 new invitees OR 166,000 USDT volume; LV2 50% = 7 invitees AND 666,000 USDT; LV3 60% = 34 invitees AND 6,666,000 USDT (upgrades real time, T+1). Quarterly assessment (start of each calendar quarter): LV1 40% = 5 invitees OR 500,000 USDT; LV2 50% = 20 invitees AND 2,000,000 USDT; LV3 60% = 100 invitees AND 20,000,000 USDT. Missing LV1 for two consecutive quarters drops the rate to Basic 15% (an earlier official overview said 0%). Valid invitee = direct referral who deposits then makes a first trade in the period. Zero-fee trades and high-VIP invitees excluded. Broker-strategy trades: fee split 50/50 with the broker before your rate applies.

How the KuCoin affiliate commission works: two clocks, one rate

The KuCoin affiliate program is built around a single rate that applies to everything your invitees trade — spot, margin and futuresFutures Contracts that let traders bet on a coin's price, often with leverage, without owning the coin. They create high volume and high risk. More — and two separate assessment clocks that decide what that rate is. Most reviews only quote the quarterly targets. The first-month targets are the more useful ones for a new affiliate, because they are much lower.

LevelRateFirst 30 daysEach quarter after

LV360%34 invitees and 6,666,000 USDT100 invitees and 20,000,000 USDT
Basic15%—Below LV1 two quarters in a row

During your first 30 days, upgrades happen in real time and take effect T+1. Quarterly assessments run at the start of each calendar quarter. Note the “or” at LV1 and the “and” above it: a single whale trader can carry you to 40%, but 50% and 60% need both headcount and volume.

Two real invitees in your first month are enough to unlock 40% — one of the lowest entry thresholds among the exchanges we review.

In plain English

A "valid invitee" is someone who signs up with your link, makes a deposit, and then places a first trade within the assessment period. Deposits made with vouchers or trading credit don't count. Zero-fee trades earn nothing, and invitees at high VIP levels are excluded — KuCoin's own pages disagree on whether the cut-off is VIP 3+ or LV4/LV5+.

Lifetime commission, with a condition

KuCoin pays a lifetime commissionLifetime commission You keep earning from a referred user for as long as they stay active, with no end date written into the deal. More on invitees registered under its lifetime rules, as long as you pass the quarterly review. Older invitees keep whatever commission period applied when they signed up. In practice that means lifetime only holds while you stay active — fall to Basic and you are still paid, but at 15%.

The broker-strategy split most KuCoin affiliates miss

If your invitees follow trading strategies run by KuCoin brokers (bots or managed strategies), the fee is first split 50/50 between KuCoin and the broker, and your rate applies only to KuCoin’s half. KuCoin’s own example: a 10 USDT fee becomes 5 USDT after the broker split, and at 60% you earn 3 USDT.

This matters if you promote copy tradingCopy trading A feature that automatically copies another trader's positions into a follower's account. More or strategy products heavily. Your effective rate on that volume is half your headline rate. Plan your forecasts accordingly, and use our revenue share vs CPA guide to compare the realistic income against flat-fee offers.

How to join the KuCoin affiliate program

  1. Confirm your eligibility. Residents of Belgium, Turkey, France and the Netherlands can't join; EU users have a separate KuCoin EU affiliate page.
  2. Check the audience bar. KuCoin asks for 5,000+ followers for creators or 500+ members for communities. Crypto websites, marketers and institutions can also apply.
  3. Apply. Submit your channels at kucoin.com/affiliate-apply. KuCoin doesn't publish its review criteria or timeline.
  4. Create custom referral links. After approval, build links on the Affiliate page and decide whether to give invitees cashback from your commission.
  5. Hit the first-month target. Two valid invitees or 166,000 USDT of volume in 30 days unlocks 40%.
  6. Protect LV1 every quarter. Five valid invitees or 500,000 USDT per quarter keeps you at 40% or above.

The 5,000-follower requirement is higher than at Bitget (100 followers) or MEXC (500). Smaller creators are better served by a community route: a 500-member Telegram group qualifies.

KuCoin affiliate dashboard and tracking

Everything runs inside your KuCoin account. The Affiliate page holds your custom referral links, cashback settings and statistics. Core stats refresh every 10 minutes and commission data updates daily. There is no published support for sub-IDsSubID An extra label you add to your affiliate link to record where a click came from — a page, banner, ad or Telegram post. More, postbackPostback A server-to-server message the program sends to your tracker when a conversion happens, so you see sign-ups and deposits as they occur. More URLs or an affiliate API, so you won’t get per-campaign conversion data out of the box.

The workaround is simple: create a separate custom link for each channel (YouTube, newsletter, Telegram, each landing page) and compare them in the dashboard. Our tracking and sub-ID guide explains how to structure links when an exchange only gives you link-level stats.

Getting paid by KuCoin

Commissions are transferred automatically to your KuCoin main account every day, on T+1. You don’t request a withdrawal and KuCoin doesn’t publish a minimum payoutMinimum payout The smallest balance you must earn before the program pays you. Earnings below it usually roll over to the next period. More. The dashboard reports earnings in USDT, but KuCoin doesn’t explicitly say affiliates are paid in USDT; the regular referral program pays in the currency the invitee used for fees. Expect mostly USDT if your audience trades USDT pairs and futures.

Keeping your rate: the quarterly review and the 15% floor

Watch out

Invitee cashback follows your level. If your commission rate ever drops to 0, the cashback you promised your audience drops to 0 as well — which can turn a "get fees back" promise into an angry comment section. Keep your LV1 numbers comfortably above target before advertising cashback.

The quarterly LV1 target — 5 valid invitees or 500,000 USDT — is low for any active channel, but seasonal creators can miss it. Two missed quarters in a row put you on the 15% Basic rate. Sub-affiliates’ invitees don’t count toward your own assessment, so you can’t rely on your network to hold your level.

Sub-affiliates and special plans

KuCoin offers second-tier commissions on sub-affiliatesSub-affiliate An affiliate you recruit into a program. You earn an extra commission on what they bring in, on top of your own direct referrals. More, but doesn’t publish the rate. A secondary rebate can be switched on through your KuCoin manager or by emailing affiliate@kucoin.com. The same contact handles special high-commission plans for larger partners. If you run a network of creators, ask for the second-tier rate in writing before recruiting; our sub-affiliate programs guide lists the questions worth asking.

KuCoin affiliate vs referral program

The referral program is the default for regular users. It starts at 25% of invitees’ fees, adjusts monthly up to 35%, and pays for 365 days after each invitee registers. You must be KYC-verified, and commission stops once an invitee reaches VIP 3.

The affiliate program pays 40–60% for the lifetime of the account, adds cashback links and sub-affiliates. It still excludes high-VIP invitees, but its 40% entry rate is well above the referral program’s 25–35%. Affiliate accounts are excluded from the referral program. If you have any audience at all, the affiliate route pays more over the long run.

Traffic rules: what gets KuCoin affiliates terminated

KuCoin is strict on search. Running search-engine ads for KuCoin, or placing referral links in search ads, leads to immediate termination — a full brand biddingBrand bidding Buying search ads on a brand's own name, such as 'Bitget login'. Most crypto programs ban it and can void your commissions. More ban. Also prohibited: KuCoin-like domains, imitation official content or redirects (traffic hijacking), phishing sites carrying referral links, bulk account registration, self-referral trading and abnormal trading or arbitrage.

Allowed and encouraged: content creators, communities, crypto websites, live streaming and copy-trading channels. Read our crypto traffic sources guide if you’re deciding where to invest effort.

Stacking campaigns: live streams, copy trading and airdrops

KuCoin is one of the few exchanges that lets affiliate commission stack with other creator programs. Its Stream-to-Earn campaign allowed stacking with affiliate commission up to a combined 70% cap, and copy-trading commission channels run alongside the affiliate rate. KuCoin also advertises a monthly 1,000,000 USDT airdrop prize pool for affiliates. These campaigns are time-limited, so check the current announcements before planning content around them.

Conversion tips for KuCoin referrals

Because a valid invitee has to deposit before the first trade, your content should walk people through funding the account, not just signing up. A short “deposit USDT and place your first futures order” tutorial converts registrations into valid invitees far better than a generic exchange overview. Remember that voucher or credit deposits don’t count.

Use the cashback setting deliberately. Invitee cashback comes out of your commission and follows your level, so it is a strong hook in your first 30 days, when two valid invitees decide whether you reach 40%. Create one custom link per channel and per offer — say, a cashback link for Telegram and a plain link for evergreen articles — then compare them in the dashboard after a few weeks. Communities that trade together, such as signal groups and copy-trading followers, tend to clear the quarterly invitee target with the least effort; see our crypto affiliate communities guide for where those audiences gather.

Who the KuCoin affiliate program suits

  • Established creators and communities that clear 5,000 followers or 500 members and want one rate across spot, margin and futures.
  • Live streamers and copy-trading leaders, who can stack campaign rewards.
  • Global audiences outside the restricted list — though not readers in France, Belgium, the Netherlands or Turkey.

Skip it if you are a small creator below the follower bar, if your traffic model relies on search ads, or if most of your users trade through broker strategies (where your rate is effectively halved).

Alternatives to compare

  • Bitget: published 40–50% tiers and a 100-follower entry bar, but 0% until activation.
  • MEXC: up to 70% including sub-affiliates, Level 2 tied to MX holdings.
  • OKX and Bybit: large derivatives exchanges with their own tiered revenue share.

The crypto exchange affiliate programs category ranks the rest.

Verdict on the KuCoin affiliate program

KuCoin’s 40% rate has one of the lowest unlock bars we’ve seen — two valid invitees in 30 days — and it covers spot, margin and futures equally with daily automatic payouts. The 60% tier is realistic only for big partners, the follower bar is higher than at rivals, and broker-strategy trades halve your take. For established creators outside the restricted countries, it is one of the cleanest lifetime revenue shares available.

How do I access the KuCoin affiliate dashboard?

Log in to your regular KuCoin account and open the Affiliate page, where you create and manage custom referral links and see your commission data. Core stats refresh every 10 minutes and commission data updates daily. You apply first at kucoin.com/affiliate-apply.

Missing LV1 for two consecutive quarters drops your rate to the Basic level of 15%. An earlier official overview listed 0% for this case, so check the rate shown in your dashboard.

KuCoin affiliate vs referral program — which should I use?
