- Compare earnings per $1,000 swapped, not headline percentages: 50% of a fee and 0.4% of volume are different things.
- ChangeNOW pays only on crypto-to-crypto swaps; Changelly, Paybis and MoonPay also earn on fiat purchases.
- Wallets and apps usually earn more through an API markup (0.5–1.25% at MoonPay, capped at 2% in Changelly's API Terms) than through a revenue share.
- Brand bidding is banned across the category, and ChangeNOW bans all paid ads that lead to its site.
Instant exchangersInstant exchanger A service that swaps one coin for another in a single step, without an exchange account or order book. More and fiat on-rampsOn-ramp A service that lets people buy crypto with regular money — cards, bank transfers, Apple Pay. An off-ramp does the reverse. More sit at the moment a user actually moves money: swapping ETH for SOL without opening an exchange account, or buying a first bitcoin with a bank card. That makes a crypto swap affiliate program a different animal from an exchange affiliate deal. You rarely get a trader who generates fees every day for years. You get a stream of transactions, a few large and many small, and your income depends on exactly what the program takes its cut from.
This page compares the four programs in our catalog — Changelly, ChangeNOW, Paybis and MoonPay — and covers what the program cards above cannot show: how each one calculates your money, which integration fits your site, and where the terms bite.
How crypto exchanger affiliate programs actually pay
Every program in this category pays you from one of three pools. Mixing them up is the most common mistake when people compare headline rates.
A share of the exchanger’s fee. Changelly pays 50% of the commission it charges on every exchange by your referred users, and up to 50% of its commission on crypto purchases. Paybis pays 20% of its own revenue on every purchase your referrals make. These are classic revenue share deals. The percentage looks big, but it is a percentage of a fee, not of the transaction.
A share of volume. ChangeNOW’s standard rate is 0.4% of the exchange amount. A $1,000 swap earns you $4, whatever ChangeNOW charges on that pair. Your income scales with ticket size, and the rate is negotiable by email to partners@changenow.io once you have volume to show.
A markup you set yourself. This is the API and widget route for wallets, apps and dApps. Changelly’s Exchange API and Fiat API partners add their own extra fee on top of Changelly’s rate: 0.1%–5% according to the Fiat API FAQ, while the API Terms cap that fee at 2% of the amount received. MoonPay’s B2B integrators add an “affiliate fee” that is typically 0.5–1.25% per order. Your user pays the markup, so every extra basis point trades price competitiveness for margin.
"50%" from Changelly and "0.4%" from ChangeNOW are not comparable numbers. Changelly's own landing-page calculator shows 33 BTC of buy turnover earning about 0.04125 BTC, which works out to roughly 0.125% of turnover on purchases. ChangeNOW's 0.4% is already expressed against the swap amount. Before you pick a program, convert every offer into "what do I earn per $1,000 my users move".
Comparing swap programs on what actually counts
The cards above show headline commissions. The table below shows the details that decide real earnings: what the percentage applies to, whether fiat purchases count, and how long a referral keeps paying you.
| Program | Paid on | Fiat buys earn? | Referral duration | Getting paid |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Changelly | 50% of fee on swaps, up to 50% on buys | Yes | Not disclosed on the landing page | USDT on demand, $30 minimum |
| ChangeNOW | 0.4% of swap volume | No, crypto-to-crypto only | Per completed swap; lifetime not published | 10+ coins, paid within 7 business days |
| Paybis | 20% of Paybis' fee, plus 5% tier 2 | Yes | Lifetime of the referral | SEPA or BTC monthly, $50 minimum |
| MoonPay | Private rate on Impact; €30 CPA on financeAds | Yes, it is an on-ramp | Not disclosed | Monthly; B2B fees from $1,000 |
Read the table against your audience, not against each other. If you write beginner guides (“how to buy bitcoin with a card”), most of your users will make fiat purchases, and ChangeNOW earns you nothing on those. Changelly, Paybis and MoonPay do. If your readers are DeFi users moving between altcoins, ChangeNOW’s volume model is the easiest to forecast, and larger tickets pay proportionally more. Paybis is the only program here with a lifetime commissionLifetime commission You keep earning from a referred user for as long as they stay active, with no end date written into the deal. More written into the offer and a second tier: you earn 5% from the referrals of webmasters you invite, a simple sub-affiliateSub-affiliate An affiliate you recruit into a program. You earn an extra commission on what they bring in, on top of your own direct referrals. More layer.
MoonPay is the odd one out. Its public creator program on Impact keeps rates inside the network dashboard, so you only see the commission after approval. If you publish in the UK, Italy, Spain or France, the financeAds “MoonPay INT” campaign is the only route in this category with a fixed CPACPA A fixed one-time payment you earn when a referred user completes a set action, such as passing KYC or making a first deposit. More you can read before applying: €30 per first trade, a 30-day cookie and Net30 validation.
Link, widget or API: picking your integration
Swap services offer more integration formats than almost any other crypto vertical, and the format changes both conversion and payout logic.
- Start with a referral link if you run a content site. All four programs give you one. It is the fastest way to test which brand converts with your readers, but it sends the user away from your page at the moment of intent.
- Embed a widget where users decide. Changelly offers customizable exchange and buy widgets plus an exchange button. ChangeNOW adds an Exchange Widget, animated buttons, a WordPress Crypto Exchange Plugin and a Telegram bot, all from one partner Profile. The swap happens on your page, which usually lifts completion.
- Move to an API when you own the product. Wallets and apps integrate Changelly's Exchange API or Fiat API, MoonPay's widget and SDKs, or Paybis' white-label On/Off Ramp and Swaps. ChangeNOW's Fast Track gives wallet teams a free integration path with 0.4% of in-app volume attributed by API key.
- Check tracking before you scale. Changelly, ChangeNOW and Paybis do not publish sub-ID or postback support, so split traffic sources with separate links or ask your contact. Our postback and SubID guide explains the setup.
Changelly lists API partners such as Trezor and ELLIPAL in its integration case studies, which shows where serious swap volume comes from: inside wallets, not from blog links. If you run a wallet or a portfolio app, the API markup will usually beat any revenue share in this category.
Program notes for the swap category
Changelly: two tracks and two sets of terms
Changelly Earn lets you run the self-serve RevShare track and the negotiated CPA/CPI/Hybrid track at the same time, which is rare. The catch is paperwork. The live landing page promises 50% on exchanges, up to 50% on buys, a $30 minimum and USDT payouts. The older Affiliate Terms still published on the terms page say 50% on crypto-to-crypto, 30% on fiat-to-crypto, BTC or ETH withdrawals and a 0.01 BTC minimum. You must pass Changelly’s verification before your first withdrawal. Brand bidding on the Changelly name is banned. Full breakdown in the Changelly affiliate program review.
ChangeNOW: instant sign-up, narrow commission base
You create a partner Profile with an email and password and get links, widgets and an API key immediately, with no application review. The trade-off is a narrow base: no commission on fiat transactions, on pairs marked “Disabled”, on fixed-rate swaps where the fixed rate is unavailable, or when the referral is logged into ChangeNOW’s Premium Lounge. A Pair Status section in the Profile shows which pairs currently earn nothing. Rewards accrue in the coin the user received and convert on withdrawal into BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, XMR and others, and you pay the network fee. US citizens and residents cannot join. See the ChangeNOW review.
Paybis: lifetime share with a second tier
Paybis pays 20% of its revenue on all purchases your referrals make, forever, plus 5% from webmasters you recruit. Payouts arrive monthly by SEPA bank transfer or Bitcoin once you pass $50. The terms changed a lot from the old iDevAffiliate portal (10% pay-per-sale, 10–30% for five years, $25 minimum), and there is no standalone affiliate T&C page, so the rules live in marketing copy. Enterprise partners can negotiate above 20%. More in the Paybis affiliate review.
MoonPay: three separate partner routes
MoonPay runs a creator program on Impact (applications reviewed in about a week, rates visible only after approval), a B2B integration model where you set a 0.5–1.25% fee and get paid in BTC, USDC or USDT once fees reach $1,000, and the financeAds CPA campaign for four European markets. Coupon and voucher sites are rejected because MoonPay offers no discounts. Our MoonPay review covers each route.
Red flags in swap and on-ramp affiliate programs
- Terms that contradict the sign-up page. Changelly's landing page and older terms disagree on the fiat rate, payout currency and minimum. Save a copy of the offer you joined under.
- Exclusion lists hidden in the agreement. ChangeNOW's carve-outs (fiat, disabled pairs, Premium Lounge users) can remove a meaningful share of your expected volume.
- Ad bans wider than brand bidding. Changelly and Paybis ban brand bidding; ChangeNOW bans any paid advertising or media buying that leads directly to changenow.io.
- No published affiliate T&C. Neither Paybis nor MoonPay has a dedicated public affiliate terms page. Ask for written terms before you invest in content.
- Dormancy and forfeiture clauses. Changelly's older terms treat accounts with no logins or transactions for three years as abandoned, with unpaid commission forfeited.
- Undisclosed cookie windows. None of the four publishes a cookie length on its own pages, so a user who returns days later may not be credited.
Do not market a swap service as a way around identity checks. Changelly requires verification before affiliate withdrawals, MoonPay and Paybis run regulated ramps, and every program here bans misleading claims or financial advice. Our compliance guide covers disclosures and restricted regions.
Traffic strategies that work for swap services
Pair pages with an embedded widget. Searches like “swap USDT to XMR” or “convert ETH to BTC” carry purchase intent. A short page that explains the pair, network fees and timing, with a ChangeNOW or Changelly widget under the first paragraph, is the classic SEOSEO Search engine optimization: earning free, organic visitors from Google by publishing pages that rank for what people search. More play in this vertical. Our guide to building a crypto affiliate website covers the page templates.
Beginner buying guides for on-ramps. “How to buy bitcoin with a card in your country” content suits Paybis, MoonPay and Changelly’s buy flow. It does not suit ChangeNOW, which pays nothing on fiat.
Wallet tutorials. People set up a hardware wallet and then need coins on it. Guides that end with a swap or buy widget connect the two moments.
Telegram and communities. ChangeNOW’s Telegram bot lets you offer swaps inside a channel. For broader channel tactics, see crypto traffic sources.
Skip paid search. Between brand-biddingBrand bidding Buying search ads on a brand's own name, such as 'Bitget login'. Most crypto programs ban it and can void your commissions. More bans and ChangeNOW’s blanket ad ban, PPC is the weakest channel here. If you are choosing between a per-transaction CPA (MoonPay via financeAds) and a revenue share, the CPA vs RevShare vs Hybrid guide walks through the math. You can see every swap brand next to exchanges and wallets in the full program catalog.
Frequently asked questions
What is a crypto swap affiliate program?
It is a partner program run by an instant exchanger or on-ramp, such as Changelly, ChangeNOW, Paybis or MoonPay. You send users who swap or buy crypto through your link, widget or API integration, and you earn a share of the service's fee, a percentage of the swapped amount, or a markup you set yourself.
Which crypto exchanger affiliate program pays the most?
It depends on what your users do. For crypto-to-crypto swaps, ChangeNOW's 0.4% of volume is easy to model ($4 per $1,000 swapped). For fiat purchases, Changelly advertises up to 50% of its fee and Paybis pays 20% of its fee for the referral's lifetime plus 5% on a second tier. Wallets with in-app swaps often earn most through an API markup instead.
How does the Changelly affiliate program work?
Changelly Earn has a self-serve RevShare track (50% of Changelly's fee on swaps, up to 50% on buys, $30 minimum in USDT) and a CPA/CPI/Hybrid track with private rates. You can join both. Details, including the conflict between the landing page and the older terms, are in our Changelly affiliate review.
Do swap affiliates earn on fiat purchases?
Not everywhere. ChangeNOW pays nothing on fiat-to-crypto or crypto-to-fiat transactions. Changelly pays up to 50% of its fee on purchases, Paybis pays 20% of its fee on every purchase, and MoonPay is a fiat on-ramp by design.
Can US residents join crypto swap affiliate programs?
ChangeNOW's terms bar US citizens and residents from being affiliates. Changelly excludes users from its Restricted Locations from counting as referrals. MoonPay's Impact program is run by Moonpay USA LLC, but it does not publish its target GEOs, so check before you build US-focused content.
