What stands out
What stands out
- Hosts the most mainstream crypto brands in one place
- Fiat payouts to bank or PayPal, low $10 minimum
- Mature tracking and reporting
Watch out for
- Each brand approves separately and can be strict
- No crypto payouts at network level
- Cookie-blocking browsers break attribution for some brands
If you promote mainstream crypto brands to a Western audience, you will end up with an Impact.com account sooner or later. Not because Impact itself is special for crypto, but because the brands put their programs there. Crypto.com and Bitpanda send every applicant to Impact. Coinbase’s affiliate page links straight to its Impact campaign. Kraken, Ledger and Nexo run Impact alongside their own in-house routes.
This review looks at Impact only through a crypto affiliate’s eyes: which brands you can actually reach there, how approval works brand by brand, what the tracking rules mean for your conversion rate, and how and when the money arrives. For the broader picture of networks versus direct deals, see our crypto affiliate networks overview.
Which crypto brands run affiliate programs on Impact
Impact is a partnership platform: brands (Impact calls them advertisers) host their programs on it, and you (a partner) apply to the ones you want. There is no “Impact crypto rate”. Every number below is set by the brand and shown to you in its contract after you apply.
| Brand | What it pays on Impact | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Coinbase | 50% of referees' trading fees for 3 months | Campaign name "Coinbase-Consumer"; paid in local currency |
| Crypto.com | Up to 50% across products, 180–365 days after KYC | Impact only; terms set per country in the contract |
| Kraken | Revenue share on trade fees; CPA, flat fee or hybrid negotiable | Impact track is for media, sites and networks |
| Bitpanda | Up to 20% revenue share, CPA for some sources | 30-day cookie; no PPC, no German-resident referrals |
| Ledger | 10% of each sale | No minimum on Impact; fiat in EUR, AUD, GBP or USD |
| Nexo | Up to 50% of fee revenue, individual terms | Affiliate track on Impact, paid in USD |
| Gemini | $25 per account that places a trade | No audiences in the UK, EEA or Australia |
| Bitcoin IRA | Up to $2,000 per new account funded with $1,000+ | 30-day referral period |
| MoonPay | Rate shown only inside Impact | Advertiser listed as Moonpay USA LLC |
| Wirex | Commission table visible only inside Impact | Same device and browser required |
Two names deserve a caution. Third-party trackers still show Uphold as open on Impact, but Uphold’s own affiliate page returns a 404 in every locale, so we would not build content around it. Some directories also list Coinrule on Impact; Coinrule runs its program in-house and has not confirmed an Impact listing.
How sign-up and per-brand approval work
Opening the Impact account is the easy part. The work is getting each crypto brand to say yes.
- Create a free partner account. Add your website or social channels, choose a partner type, set your payout currency and add a bank or PayPal account. Pick an accurate partner type: Kraken and several other crypto brands reject applications marked "Offline" or "Other" with no context.
- Find the brand. Search the marketplace, or use the "Apply" or "Become an affiliate" button on the brand's own affiliate page. Coinbase, Crypto.com, Bitpanda, Gemini and Bitcoin IRA all link directly to their Impact sign-up forms.
- Apply with specifics. Bitpanda asks for the exact URL where you will promote it. Crypto.com asks which platforms and traffic sources you use. Generic "I have a blog" applications are the ones that stall.
- Wait for the brand's decision. Kraken and Wirex quote about five business days; Crypto.com and MoonPay about a week. Gemini calls its program highly competitive.
- Accept the contract and read it. Commission, cookie window, banned traffic and target countries usually appear only at this stage. Bitcoin IRA calls its contract an insertion order; Bitpanda shows its current affiliate terms only after you accept them inside Impact.
Rejections in crypto are rarely about Impact. They come from the brand’s compliance team. The common reasons we found across Impact-based crypto programs: private social accounts, inactive or off-topic sites, coupon sites (MoonPay lists these explicitly), audiences in countries the brand cannot serve, and individuals applying to tracks built for businesses. Kraken, for example, says its Impact track mainly seeks businesses and points individuals to its referral program, while creators get a separate in-house track.
Apply to one or two brands that fit your content before you apply to ten. A live page that already reviews the brand, with a clear risk disclosure, is the best evidence you can attach. Once one crypto brand approves you, the next applications are easier to justify.
Tracking rules that travel with crypto offers
Impact gives you a real-time dashboard, a link builder with deep linksDeep link An affiliate link that sends the user straight to a specific page — such as a coin's buy page or a promo — instead of the homepage. More, SubIDsSubID An extra label you add to your affiliate link to record where a click came from — a page, banner, ad or Telegram post. More, postbacks and an API. Coinbase alone advertises 20+ customizable reports. The platform side is mature. The weak spots come from crypto brands’ own attribution rules, which Impact enforces exactly as written.
The strictest example is device matching. Kraken and Wirex both require the click and the sign-up to happen on the same device and browser. Wirex adds that cookie-blocking browsers such as Brave and Tor are not supported, and neither brand credits a missed referral manually. If your reader clicks your link on a phone and opens an account later on a laptop, that conversion is gone.
Timing matters too. Wirex says actions can take up to 72 hours to appear. Kraken shows conversions within 72 hours and updates fee revenue daily with a three-to-four-day delay. MoonPay actions show up the same day. Do not panic over a quiet first afternoon.
Crypto.com warns that referrals using discounts, codes or bonuses it did not officially communicate may go untracked. Do not invent a “promo code” for a brand that does not offer one.
For revenue share brands, the contract defines what you earn on: Kraken’s Impact track pays on spot and futures trade fees plus spot margin opening and rollover fees; Coinbase pays on trading fees for the first three months only. For a CPACPA A fixed one-time payment you earn when a referred user completes a set action, such as passing KYC or making a first deposit. More brand like Gemini, the qualifying action is an account that places a trade, not a bare sign-up. Read the action definition before you compare offers. Our CPA vs RevShare guide shows how to put a one-off payment and a time-limited share on the same scale.
Getting paid: thresholds, timing and tax forms
Impact’s minimum payoutMinimum payout The smallest balance you must earn before the program pays you. Earnings below it usually roll over to the next period. More is $10 or the equivalent in your account currency. You choose whether to withdraw automatically when your balance reaches the threshold or on a fixed day of the month, to a bank account or PayPal (PayPal only if your currency is supported). Changing your bank details triggers a review of up to two working days and a 48-hour pause on withdrawals, so do not update them the week your payout is due.
The threshold is not what slows you down; the brand’s payment cycle is. Your balance only grows when a brand pays Impact. Typical crypto brands report revenue by the 15th and pay on the 29th of the following month. A Kraken trade made early in one month therefore reaches your bank around eight weeks later. Ledger is the exception worth knowing: on Impact it has no minimum and pays within 30 days of your request, but rewards older than 12 months are forfeited if you never request a payout.
Tax paperwork depends on where you and the brand are. If you are US-based or work with US-based brands, Impact asks for an electronic tax document once your earnings reach $2,000 in a US tax year, and payouts are blocked until it is approved. If you are outside the US and work only with non-US brands, you confirm your indirect tax details in your company information instead. One more rule worth knowing: if Impact cannot pay you for six months (for example, because your bank details are missing), a non-refundable monthly maintenance fee starts in month seven.
There are no crypto payouts at network level. Ledger lets you choose EUR, AUD, GBP or USD; Nexo’s Impact track pays in USD; everything else follows your account currency.
Impact versus joining crypto brands directly
For some brands you have no choice. Crypto.com and Bitpanda route applicants through Impact, and Coinbase’s affiliate program lives there. For others, Impact is one of two doors, and the trade-off is real:
| Brand | Impact route | Direct route |
|---|---|---|
| Kraken | Media and networks, paid in local currency | Creators and KOLs, paid in USDC |
| Ledger | No minimum, fiat, paid within 30 days of request | €50 and at least 2 orders, paid in bitcoin |
| Nexo | Affiliate track for media and networks | Business track for advisers and creators |
Choose Impact when you want fiat in a bank account, one tax setup and a single dashboard for several brands. Choose the in-house route when you want crypto payouts, a closer relationship with the brand’s team, or when you are a creator rather than a publisher (Kraken is explicit about this split). Many affiliates run both: Impact for the network-only brands, direct deals for the exchanges that pay in stablecoinsStablecoin A crypto token pegged to a regular currency, usually the US dollar, so its price stays close to $1. More and offer lifetime commissionLifetime commission You keep earning from a referred user for as long as they stay active, with no end date written into the deal. More. Our exchange affiliate programs page shows which exchanges are reachable only in-house.
Who Impact suits, and who should skip it
A good fit: content sites, comparison sites and newsletters with a US, UK or EU audience that want several regulated, recognizable brands under one login. Media companies and sub-affiliateSub-affiliate An affiliate you recruit into a program. You earn an extra commission on what they bring in, on top of your own direct referrals. More networks also fit; Kraken’s Impact track explicitly accepts them.
A weaker fit: Telegram and trading-signal channels, private social accounts and new sites without content. These are the profiles crypto brands on Impact reject most often. Most derivatives-focused exchanges, such as Bybit and MEXC, run their programs in-house rather than on Impact. If your traffic sits in Asia or emerging markets, check each brand’s country list first; Gemini, for instance, excludes the UK, the EEA and Australia.
Practical tips for crypto affiliates on Impact
- Tag every link with a SubID. One SubID per article or placement lets you compare brands by EPC and audit reversals. Our postback and SubID guide covers the setup.
- Warn mobile readers about device matching. For Kraken and Wirex, a short line such as "open the account on the device you are reading this on" can recover conversions you would otherwise lose.
- Keep compliance copy current. Crypto brands on Impact audit pages for risk warnings and misleading claims. Our crypto affiliate compliance guide lists the common pitfalls.
- Watch commission windows. Coinbase pays for three months and Crypto.com for 180–365 days. A referral's value to you drops off a cliff when the window closes.
- Set your tax and bank details on day one. A missing tax form blocks payouts; an unpaid balance for six months starts incurring fees.
Verdict: the network most crypto affiliates need
Impact is not a crypto network, and it does not negotiate on your behalf. What it does is host the largest set of mainstream, regulated crypto brands we have found on any network, with solid tracking and a $10 fiat threshold. The friction lives in the brands: separate approvals, strict device-based attribution at Kraken and Wirex, and payment cycles that put roughly two months between a conversion and your bank account.
If you work with Western audiences, open an account. If you want crypto payouts or the highest rates on derivatives, keep your direct deals too, and look at FlexOffers or financeAds when you need brands Impact does not carry.
