Ledger is the name most people type into a search bar when they first look for a hardware-walletHardware wallet A small physical device that keeps crypto keys offline. Affiliates usually earn a percentage of each device sold. More, which makes its affiliate program one of the easiest wallet offers to convert. The deal itself is simple: a percentage of each device sale, no recurring income, and a choice of how you want to be paid. The details — two separate platforms, an annual “use it or lose it” rule, and some unusually strict search-ad restrictions — are where affiliates either earn steadily or lose money. This review walks through all of them.
How the Ledger affiliate commission is calculated
Ledger’s affiliate terms set the commission at a minimum of 10% of the final sales price actually paid for each qualifying order. Three things shrink that base before the 10% is applied:
- Discounts. If Ledger runs a promotion and the customer pays less, your 10% is calculated on the reduced price.
- Taxes. VAT, GST and sales taxes are excluded.
- Delivery. Shipping costs are not commissionable.
Here is what that looks like on two devices whose prices we checked on Ledger’s official store pages. US list prices exclude sales tax, so the commission base is the full list price when no discount applies.
| Device | Official list price | Your 10% |
|---|---|---|
| Ledger Flex | $249 | $24.90 |
| Ledger Stax | $399 | $39.90 |
Europe works differently because shop prices include VAT. In a country with 20% VAT, the net price is the sticker price divided by 1.2, so your 10% of net works out to roughly 8.3% of what the buyer sees at checkout. Keep that in mind if most of your audience sits in the EU or UK — your earnings per clickEPC Earnings per click: your total commission divided by the clicks you sent. It lets you compare offers that pay in different ways. More will be lower than a US-centric calculator suggests.
Refunds and cancellations are deducted from later payments, so a returned device simply reverses the commission. There is no recurring-commissionRecurring commission A commission paid again every time a referred customer renews a subscription — typical for trading bots and crypto tax software. More: each order pays once. A reader who buys a Nano today and a Stax next year only earns you the second commission if they come back through your link.
The tiered reward program
The affiliate homepage also describes a “Tiered Reward Program”. Climbing tiers unlocks non-cash perks: free Ledger devices, access to Ledger events, sponsorship opportunities, community giveaways and NFT drops. Ledger does not publish higher cash rates for those tiers, and the terms state that Ledger may change the compensation rate. Plan your numbers around 10%, and treat anything above it as a bonus you negotiate later.
Two ways in: Ledger’s own platform or Impact
Ledger runs the program in-house at affiliate.ledger.com and also accepts sign-ups through the Impact affiliate networkAffiliate network A platform that connects many advertisers with many affiliates and handles tracking, reporting and payouts in one account. More. The commission rate is the same; the money side is not.
| In-house platform | Impact | |
|---|---|---|
| Payout currency | Bitcoin (BTC) | EUR, AUD, GBP or USD |
| Minimum payout | €50 and at least 2 orders | No minimum |
| When you are paid | Within 30 days of requesting | Within 30 days of requesting |
| Conversion | EUR to BTC at the Bitfinex rate on payment day | Currency chosen at account creation |
Which one to pick? If you already run several brands through Impact, keep Ledger there — one dashboard, one tax profile, fiat in your bank. If you prefer to stack sats, or you are outside the countries Impact serves well, the in-house track pays straight to a BTC address. Note that the in-house conversion happens on payment day, so the bitcoin amount you receive depends on that day’s rate, not the day the sale happened.
With Flex-level orders, the in-house minimum is reached after two or three sales depending on the EUR/USD rate — the “2 orders” condition is the real hurdle for small sites, not the €50.
How to join the Ledger affiliate program
- Pick your platform. Go to affiliate.ledger.com for the in-house program, or find Ledger in the Impact marketplace if you want fiat payouts.
- Fill in the sign-up form. Ledger asks for your name, email, country, whether you act professionally, your main traffic source and its URL. You must be 18+ and own (or have permission for) the sites where you place links.
- Add payout details. In-house, give the Bitcoin address that will receive rewards. On Impact, choose EUR, AUD, GBP or USD.
- Grab your link. Approval is instant: the affiliate link and the 24/7 dashboard are available right after sign-up, along with banners, links and videos.
- Request payouts. Once you clear the threshold, click the payout button. Ledger may ask for ID, proof of address, VAT status (and company documents for entities) plus an invoice before paying.
Getting paid: invoices, KYC and the 12-month rule
Ledger treats affiliates as suppliers. You issue an invoice for your commission (a draft invoice generator is provided) and you are responsible for your own VAT. Identity checks — the kycKYC Identity verification: users upload an ID (and often a selfie) before they can trade or withdraw. Many crypto commissions start only after KYC. More step — can happen at sign-up and again before payout.
The rule that catches people out is the annual payout requirement.
Payouts are not automatic. You must click the payout button at least once every 12 months. If you don't, rewards older than 12 months are forfeited and your balance resets to zero. Set a calendar reminder the day you sign up.
Small affiliates with a few sales a year are most at risk: on the in-house track you may sit below the €50 and 2-order threshold for months, then forget to request once you cross it. If your volume is low, the Impact track with no minimum is the safer choice.
Traffic rules that get Ledger affiliates removed
Ledger’s restrictions are stricter than most wallet programs. The full list sits in the spec sheet above; these are the ones that matter in practice:
- No search advertising at all. Beyond the usual brand-biddingBrand bidding Buying search ads on a brand's own name, such as 'Bitget login'. Most crypto programs ban it and can void your commissions. More ban on “Ledger”, “Ledger Nano S/X”, “Ledger Live” and misspellings, the terms prohibit placing your affiliate links on search ad platforms like Google Ads or Bing Ads. Your affiliate site must also stay below Ledger’s own paid search ads.
- No coupon or cashbackCashback Returning part of your commission to the user, for example a share of their trading fees. Some sites build their whole business on it. More sites. Unlike ELLIPAL, which offers coupon partners a dedicated code, Ledger excludes the whole model.
- No URL shorteners. Use the full tracking link or a redirect on your own domain.
- No typo-squatting. Domains containing “ledger” or misspellings are off-limits — relevant if you planned a niche site with the brand in the URL.
- No bulk or self-purchases. Five or more orders shipped to one address through your link can terminate the account. This is an anti-reseller rule; don’t offer to “order for” your community.
- No mixing with Refer a Friend. You can’t push both your affiliate link and a customer referral link to the same audience.
Allowed channels are broad: seoSEO Search engine optimization: earning free, organic visitors from Google by publishing pages that rank for what people search. More content sites, YouTube, X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Discord communities and opted-in newsletters. For a wider view of what works in this niche, read our guide to crypto traffic sources.
Ledger affiliate program vs Refer a Friend
Ledger also runs a customer referral scheme, and searchers often confuse the two.
| Affiliate program | Refer a Friend | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it’s for | Publishers and creators | Existing customers |
| Reward | 10% of the net order | $5–$20 in BTC per purchase |
| Cap | None | $1,000 of BTC per year |
| Buyer benefit | None stated | Gift card equal to the reward |
Refer a Friend pays $5 for a Nano S Plus or Nano X, $10 for a Nano Gen5 and $20 for a Flex or Stax. On a $249 Flex, the affiliate program pays $24.90 versus a flat $20 — and the affiliate side has no cap. The trade-off is that the referral scheme gives the buyer something, which the affiliate program does not state. You must choose one; Ledger does not allow participation in both.
Who the Ledger program suits
Good fit: beginner-friendly crypto blogs, YouTube channels doing setup tutorials, newsletters about self-custody, and comparison sites. Instant approval means you can test the offer the same day you publish. The high ticket on Flex and Stax lifts the value of every conversion.
Poor fit: coupon and cashback publishers, media buyers who rely on search ads, and anyone who needs recurring income. If you want lifetime revenue, wallets are the wrong vertical — look at the revenue-share offers in our highest paying crypto affiliate programs list instead.
Conversion tips for Ledger content
- Sell the product ladder. Many readers arrive wanting the cheapest Nano. Explain honestly where a touchscreen Flex or Stax earns its price; the commission difference between a budget device and a $399 Stax is large.
- Deep-link to the product page. Send readers straight to the device you recommend instead of the homepage to cut one decision step.
- Pair the link with a setup guide. “How to set up a Ledger” tutorials convert because the reader is already decided — your job is to be the link they click.
- Be specific about risk. Avoid claims that a device makes funds untouchable; explain what a hardware wallet does and doesn’t protect against. Our compliance guide covers disclosure basics.
- Watch EU/UK numbers. If most clicks come from VAT countries, budget for roughly 8.3% of the sticker price rather than 10%.
Alternatives to compare
If Ledger’s rules don’t fit your traffic, other wallet programs pay differently:
- Trezor’s affiliate program advertises up to 15% with a published 30-day cookie, but needs manual approval and pays nothing on coupon-discounted orders.
- ELLIPAL pays 15% (up to 20% for long-term partners) with a 90-day cookie, and accepts coupon sites with a dedicated code.
- SafePal starts at 10% and moves to 20% after 100 conversions on lower-priced devices.
- Tangem is a fixed USDT reward through its in-app referral program rather than a percentage.

Verdict
The Ledger affiliate program is the most frictionless start in the wallet niche: instant approval, a clear 10% of net order value, and a choice between bitcoin and fiat payouts. On a $249 Flex that is $24.90 per sale, and the Impact track removes the minimum entirely. The weak points are what Ledger leaves out — no published cookie lengthCookie life How long after a click the program still credits you if the visitor signs up or buys. A 30-day cookie gives the user 30 days to convert. More, no published higher cash tiers — and two rules you must respect: no search ads of any kind, and a payout request at least once a year. Respect those, and Ledger is a dependable anchor offer for any self-custody content.

Frequently asked questions
How much does the Ledger affiliate program pay?
Ledger's affiliate terms set a minimum of 10% of the final price the customer pays, after discounts and excluding VAT, sales tax and delivery costs. On a Ledger Flex listed at $249 that is $24.90 per order. Higher tiers add perks such as free devices and event access; higher cash rates are not published.
Is the Ledger affiliate program free to join?
Yes. You fill in a short form at affiliate.ledger.com (name, country, main traffic source and its URL) and get your affiliate link and dashboard immediately. You can also join through the Impact network instead.
How does Ledger pay its affiliates?
On the in-house platform you are paid in bitcoin, converted from EUR at the Bitfinex rate on payment day, once you have €50 and at least 2 orders. On Impact you are paid in EUR, AUD, GBP or USD with no minimum. Both pay within 30 days of your payout request.
What is the Ledger affiliate cookie duration?
Ledger does not publish a cookie length. The terms only say the purchase must go through your unique affiliate link; buyers who reach the store another way are not credited to you.
Ledger affiliate program vs Refer a Friend: which should I use?
Refer a Friend is for customers and pays $5–$20 in BTC per referred purchase, capped at $1,000 a year. The affiliate program pays 10% of the net order with no annual cap. You cannot take part in both, so content creators are almost always better off with the affiliate program. See our crypto referral programs overview for the difference.
Can I run Google Ads for the Ledger affiliate program?
No. Bidding on Ledger brand terms and misspellings is banned, and the terms go further: you may not place your affiliate links on search ad platforms such as Google Ads or Bing Ads at all.
