CJ Affiliate Review for Crypto Publishers

CJ Affiliate is a large, long-running network, but its crypto shelf is nearly empty: the only live crypto listing our research found is a UK Coinbase campaign, and Crypto.com, once CJ's flagship crypto launch, now runs exclusively on Impact. CJ pays from $50 by direct deposit or Payoneer, $100 by check.

Free to apply. Approval depends on your traffic sources and the program terms.

What stands out

What stands out

  • Large, established network with reliable payments
  • Hosts a UK Coinbase program
  • Single dashboard if you already promote mainstream brands

Watch out for

  • Very few crypto advertisers compared with impact.com
  • Crypto.com left CJ for impact.com
  • Payment thresholds not documented on public CJ pages

CJ Affiliate, the network many people still call Commission Junction, is one of the oldest names in affiliate marketing. Retail, travel, software and financial brands have run programs there for a long time, and plenty of content sites earn most of their network income through it. So it is natural to ask whether CJ is a good place to find crypto offers too.

The short answer: not really. This review explains what crypto inventory CJ actually has, why the biggest crypto launch it ever hosted left, how its payouts work, and the narrow cases where a crypto publisher should still keep a CJ account.

What crypto brands CJ Affiliate actually carries

Our research found one current crypto listing on CJ and one notable departure.

Fact check

Coinbase (UK listing). A campaign named "UKLG_Coinbase", targeting Great Britain, is tracked on CJ according to the network tracker Affilitizer. Crypto.com (gone). CJ's own launch spotlight documented Crypto.com at up to $20 per successful new user sign-up with a 30-day cookie. Crypto.com's affiliate program now runs exclusively on Impact.

That is a thin shelf. Compare it with Impact, where our research confirmed ten crypto brands, or FlexOffers, which lists CoinTracker, Tangem, MoonPay and a Coinbase revenue-share offer.

The Coinbase listing needs a second look. Coinbase’s own affiliate page sends applicants to its “Coinbase-Consumer” campaign on Impact, which pays 50% of referees’ trading fees for their first three months. The same page has said that the UK affiliate program is “closed until further notice”. So you have an official UK closure notice on one side and a UK listing on CJ on the other. The CJ terms are visible only inside a CJ account, and we could not confirm who operates the campaign or what it pays.

Watch out

Before you write a single UK Coinbase page around the CJ offer, apply, read the contract in full, and ask the advertiser contact to confirm in writing that the campaign is authorized by Coinbase and paying. Also check the UK's financial promotion rules for crypto, which apply to affiliates as well as brands.

Why crypto brands chose Impact over CJ

The Crypto.com story is the clearest example of a pattern. Crypto.com launched on CJ with a simple CPACPA A fixed one-time payment you earn when a referred user completes a set action, such as passing KYC or making a first deposit. More deal: up to $20 per sign-up, 30-day cookieCookie life How long after a click the program still credits you if the visitor signs up or buys. A 30-day cookie gives the user 30 days to convert. More. It later moved its affiliate program to Impact, where it now pays up to 50% across products for 180–365 days after each referred customer completes KYC, with terms set country by country.

We do not know Crypto.com’s internal reasons, and we will not guess. What we can see is the result: Coinbase, Crypto.com, Bitpanda, Kraken’s media track, Ledger, Nexo, Gemini, Bitcoin IRA, MoonPay and Wirex all run on Impact, and none of them has a CJ listing we could confirm. When nearly every regulated crypto brand chooses the same network, publishers follow them, and the other networks see fewer crypto applications.

For you, the practical takeaway is simple. If crypto is your main vertical, CJ will not replace an Impact account or direct deals with exchanges.

How CJ sign-up and advertiser approval work

The process is the standard two-stage network model, and it costs nothing to join.

  1. Register as a publisher. Sign up at signup.cj.com with your website or channel details, then add tax and payment information so commissions can be paid.
  2. Search the Advertisers tab. Use keyword searches such as "Coinbase", "crypto", "bitcoin" and "wallet". Listings are country-specific, so a UK campaign may not appear the same way from a US account.
  3. Apply to each advertiser. Approval is per advertiser, not per network. Explain your audience's country, your traffic sources and where the links will appear.
  4. Read the program terms before you publish. Commission, cookie length, banned traffic and validation rules sit in each advertiser's terms inside CJ, not on public pages.
  5. Build links in the CJ Account Manager. Add a SubID to each placement so you can trace every conversion back to a page.

Crypto advertisers usually screen harder than a typical retailer. Expect questions about the countries you target and how you present risk. Our crypto affiliate compliance guide covers what crypto brands look for.

CJ payout thresholds, methods and schedule

CJ does not publish its publisher payment thresholds on public pages, so the figures below come from a payout table reproduced by Namecheap’s affiliate help centre and from third-party reviews. Treat them as a guide and confirm the numbers in your CJ account settings.

Payout currencyDirect deposit minimumPaper check minimum
USD$50$100
EUR€25€60
GBP£25£50
CAD50100

Methods. Direct deposit, paper check, or Payoneer for local-currency payments. CJ does not pay to PayPal or to credit cards, and there is no crypto payout option. If PayPal is your preferred method, that alone points you to Impact or FlexOffers.

Schedule. Third-party sources describe a monthly cycle, with prior-month commissions paid around the 20th. Commissions only become payable after the advertiser locks and pays them, so a brand with a long validation period delays your money regardless of CJ’s own cycle.

Because the minimum payoutMinimum payout The smallest balance you must earn before the program pays you. Earnings below it usually roll over to the next period. More is per payment method, small balances can sit in your account for a while. One crypto offer with a handful of conversions a month may not clear $50 by itself. That is fine if CJ already pays you for other verticals: your crypto commissions simply join the same balance.

Tracking and reporting on CJ

CJ’s dashboard, the Account Manager, gives you link building and per-advertiser reporting for every program you join, crypto or not. For crypto, the tracking question is less about CJ and more about the brand: what counts as a qualifying action, whether a sign-up without a deposit pays, and how long the advertiser takes to validate.

For a fixed-payout offer like the old Crypto.com deal, ask the advertiser exactly when a sign-up counts as “successful”. Is identity verification enough, or does the user need to fund the account? The answer changes your conversion rate more than any link format. If you run paid traffic or newsletters, pass your own SubIDSubID An extra label you add to your affiliate link to record where a click came from — a page, banner, ad or Telegram post. More and compare CJ’s numbers with your click logs every month. Our postback and SubID guide explains the setup.

CJ versus joining crypto brands directly

For most crypto brands, the comparison is not CJ versus direct. It is Impact or in-house versus direct, because CJ does not carry them. The real question is whether CJ adds anything to a crypto publisher’s mix.

Arguments for keeping a CJ account:

  • You already earn there from finance, software or retail brands, so crypto conversions add to an existing balance and clear the threshold sooner.
  • You publish UK content and want to test the Coinbase listing after confirming it is authorized.
  • You want to monitor the network for new crypto launches. Crypto.com started there; others could follow.

Arguments against relying on it for crypto:

  • One confirmed crypto listing, and a questionable one at that.
  • No PayPal and no crypto payouts.
  • Thresholds and schedule are not published on official public pages.
  • In-house exchange programs pay revenue shareRevShare You earn a percentage of the revenue a platform makes from your referred users — on exchanges, usually a share of their trading fees. More, often for life; the flagship crypto deal CJ hosted was a one-off CPA of up to $20.

If you are building a crypto site from scratch, start with direct programs from our exchange affiliate programs list and an Impact account. Add CJ only if you also cover non-crypto personal finance.

Who should use CJ for crypto offers

Use it if you run a broad personal-finance or tech site that already earns on CJ, and you want the occasional crypto offer in the same dashboard. You get one payment, one tax setup, and CJ’s reporting.

Skip it if your site, channel or newsletter is crypto-first. You will spend more time searching CJ’s advertiser list than you will earn from it. Your effort is better spent on Impact for regulated brands, financeAds or Daisycon for European offers, and direct deals with exchanges such as Kraken that pay in stablecoins.

Tips if you test crypto offers on CJ

  • Verify the brand authorizes the listing. Check the brand's official affiliate page. If it says the program is closed in your country, get written confirmation before you send traffic.
  • Read the qualifying action. Sign-up, KYC, deposit or first trade: each produces a very different payout per click.
  • Check geo targeting. CJ campaigns are often country-specific. Sending US visitors to a UK-only campaign wastes clicks.
  • Pick a payout method you can actually use. No PayPal means you need a bank account or Payoneer from the start.
  • Re-check every quarter. Crypto inventory on general networks changes; a listing can appear, change terms or disappear between your monthly reports.

Verdict: a strong general network with almost no crypto

CJ Affiliate does its core job well: established tracking, a familiar dashboard and a long track record of paying publishers. For crypto specifically, it is close to empty. The one listing we found conflicts with Coinbase’s own statement that its UK program is closed, and the most important crypto brand that launched on CJ now works only through Impact.

Keep CJ if it already pays you for other content. For crypto, treat it as a network to watch, not one to build on. Start with Impact, compare US offers on FlexOffers, and go direct with the exchanges you promote most. If you are new to all of this, our guide to crypto affiliate marketing explains how these routes fit together.

Frequently asked questions

Does CJ Affiliate have crypto affiliate programs?

Very few. The only current crypto listing our research found is a UK Coinbase campaign tracked on CJ. Crypto.com launched on CJ at up to $20 per sign-up, then moved its program exclusively to Impact. Search the Advertisers tab inside your CJ account to see what is open to you.

What is the CJ Affiliate minimum payout?

CJ does not publish its thresholds on public pages. A payout table reproduced by Namecheap lists $50 for direct deposit and $100 for paper checks in USD, €25 and €60 in EUR, and £25 and £50 in GBP.

Does CJ Affiliate pay via PayPal?

No. CJ pays by direct deposit, paper check or Payoneer for local-currency payments. It does not pay to PayPal or to credit cards, and it does not pay in crypto.

Is the Coinbase program on CJ the official Coinbase affiliate program?

Not the main one. Coinbase's own affiliate page sends applicants to its Coinbase-Consumer campaign on Impact and says the UK affiliate program is closed until further notice. A UK Coinbase listing still appears on CJ, so confirm with Coinbase before you build UK content around it.

Should a crypto affiliate join CJ or Impact?

For crypto, Impact. It hosts Kraken, Coinbase, Crypto.com, Bitpanda, Ledger, Nexo and Gemini. CJ only makes sense if you already earn there from other verticals and want to test the few crypto offers it carries.
